Volunteer Workshop Schedule – Fall 2011
All workshops are from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Rowe Visitor Center except where indicated. These workshops are open to all current or prospective CNC volunteers. Certification workshops are intended for school group educators, but all volunteers are welcome to participate. Please bring a bag lunch and dress for the outdoors as most workshops are hosted indoors but involve outdoor exploration. View the Fall 2011 Workshop Schedule.

Interested in learning more about volunteering at CNC?
Attend one of these sessions to discover the many volunteer opportunities available. Find a good fit for you talents, interests, and schedule. At then end of the session, you’ll receive a volunteer application.

Volunteers Needed!
Children's Saturday Programs
Volunteers are critical to helping these programs run smoothly! Help with these Saturday morning groups 9:30-11:30am: Earth Huggers (ages 3-4), Awareness (ages 5-6), and Discovery (ages 7-9).

Marketing and Development
In need of a volunteer! They are looking for someone to help 2-3 times per month with the daily operations on their staff: organizing files, database clean-up, mailings, special event preparation, etc. Contact Kristi Masterson if interested (513) 831-1711 ext. 124 ![]()
Bird Seed Sale
Lend a helping hand on a beautiful fall day while members stock up on bird seed! (Must be able to lift heavy bags of 50lbs or more.)
- October 15-November 6; 10am-5pm
Weekend Quilt Show
Help greet members during the opening reception, sell raffle tickets, mingle with visitors or provide a homeade treat!
- October 21-23 9am-5pm
Wish List:
Cleaned out peanut butter jars - and lids! These are great for catching and viewing all sorts of things in our early childhood classes and camps! Drop them off in the volunteer room next time you are at Rowe Woods.
-Animals to Taxidermy - Keep your eyes open for the following:
Saw Whet Owl
Falcon
Vulture
Crow
Shrews
Flicker
Grey Squirrel
Cottontail Rabbit
*Guidelines: The animal must be dead - we absolutely are not encouraging the killing of any animals. If you find any of the above animals already dead but in decent condition, secure in a zip lock or plastic bag and get to the freezer ASAP. CNC has a freezer designated for such things and will gladly take them from you.

Featured Volunteers
Nancy Holcomb has been an education and special events volunteer for nine years, and has worked hard to promote recycling in her community. Today, she continues to support CNC by collecting paper and catalogues to drop of at CNC's Paper Retriever. "The bin is a simple way for people to make a big impact: recycling and raising money for CNC at the same time!"
